Lotte Reiniger was a pioneer of animated film. She made the first ever feature-length animated film. In her theatrical feature, Rike Reiniger portrays her as a resolute and cheerful woman who persevered and perfected her talent - the silhouette - and used it wisely. But is all this really true? The writing process itself becomes visible, because quotes, facts and fiction do not quite mix, remain independent and the author - herself related to Reiniger - adds scenes, dubious but possible. The play shapes its material, sets it in motion and thus reflects its own approach to reality.
