The Open Mike promotes young literary talent and offers young authors a stage, brings them into contact with the literary public and serves to build networks. The competition provides long-term support for young talents and helps them to develop their own literary voice.
Frieda Paris, Evan Tepest and Ruth-Maria Thomas are former finalists of the open mike. They are now presenting their recently published debuts: Nachwasser (Voland & Quist), Schreib den Namen deiner Mutter (Piper Verlag) and Die schönste Version (Rowohlt Verlag). They will be accompanied by their publishers and editors, who will talk to the authors and give an insight into their publishing work.
