The exhibition brings together works by more than 20 artists and aims to redefine the idea of Africa in global perception. Inspired by the continent's historical cultural richness and its current socio-political landscape, the exhibition draws on the philosophy of Cameroonian thinker Achille Mbembe, who proposes to imagine a "common world" by "thinking the world from Africa".
The exhibition aims to challenge conventional perceptions and promote a view of Africa that places the continent at the center of a shared global future. In their art, the photographers and filmmakers challenge the limitations often imposed by stereotypical representations. They emphasize the diverse realities of the continent and its potential to influence human stories. The exhibition is divided into three thematic sections dedicated to identity and tradition, counter-narratives and futures.
