In the detective office of master detective Lisa Streng-Geheim and her assistant Pico, a parrot with strikingly human characteristics, there is yawning boredom. For months now, there has been no new assignment, no exciting case waiting to be solved. But then a young man comes forward who has lost a valuable ring in the jungle. All efforts to find it have so far been unsuccessful. The last chance of ever getting it back could be to ask the animals of the jungle. The first lead takes the two master detectives to an anthill. By literally communicating with their feet, they learn that the ants used the ring as a swimming pool until the elephant sucked it up and blew it away. As a result, they trumpet with the elephant and get tangled up in misunderstandings, argue with the monkeys about the value of Christmas presents and even dare to approach the lion. As they explore the possibilities of communication between humans and animals, they not only track down the lost ring. Their exploration of the still almost unexplored world of animal languages also leads them to surprising discoveries and the realization that it is high time to fundamentally rethink the relationship between humans and animals.
