In her impressive documentary, French director Claire Simon takes a careful look around a gynecological clinic in Paris; she compiles scenes of births and cancer diagnoses, of consultations on endometriosis and hormone therapy for an older trans woman. What emerges is an initially observational, later increasingly personal film about what it means to live in a female body, and at the same time a wonderful example of the strength of documentary cinema.
