Artist Talk mit Buket Isgören

In the organizer's words:

Many things are easier in pairs. This is why Buket Isgören and Suzanne Josek set out on a quest in pairs - and together with the audience: they approach Buket Isgören's paintings and the questions they raise in a playful, dialogical and physically performative way. This spontaneously opens up new, unusual perspectives on the work of the artist, for whom drawing is a form of self-empowerment: "When I draw so firmly, I have real strength."

Buket Isgören was born in Cologne in 1992 and still lives there today. She attended the Thymianweg special school for the learning disabled in Cologne from 1998 to 2005 and then the Auf dem Sandberg 120 municipal special school in Cologne until 2010. From 2010 to 2015, she worked at the Gemeinnützige Werkstätten Köln (GWK). Since 2015 she has been working at Kunsthaus KAT18 in Cologne.
