Ashley Henry: a fusion of jazz, soul and hip-hop.

London-based jazz pianist, singer, composer, producer and bandleader Ashley Henry is regarded as one of the UK's greatest jazz talents. His current and second album "Who We Are" is a jazz journey created in London that combines devotion, collective dreams and the fight for freedom in an extraordinary blend of jazz, soul and hip-hop. It features artists such as singer Judi Jackson, spoken word activist Aja Monet, saxophonist Binker Golding and trumpeter Theo Croker.

Driving rhythms, intricate harmonies and yet clear melodies, you can hear the Royal Academy of Music graduate's variety of influences, which he draws from his Caribbean heritage and his London upbringing. "My music is a straight up reflection of who I am," explains the descendant of Jamaican immigrants, "London in all its mixed up glory. The immigrant in me has musical roots that are traced back to the 1600s, so it's important my music today reflects that jazz alpha narrative across different genres and generations".

His debut album "Beautiful Vinyl Hunter" (2020) was already celebrated for its successful fusion of jazz with urban sounds and its cross-genre diversity. Highly praised and supported by international media such as Wonderland, Notion and the BBC, Ashley Henry is well on his way to becoming one of Europe's most influential jazz musicians. A sought-after collaborator, he has toured with Christine and the Queens and Loyle Carner and played for Makaya McCraven, Zara McFarlane and Isaiah Collier.
