AU JARDIN DES POTINIERS

Flowers open, thunder crashes, birds chirp and the audience sits right in the middle of it all, sticking its head into a garden that holds all kinds of surprises, big and small. From the perspective of a mountain in this lovingly designed pop-up landscape, everyone experiences the natural spectacles from their own perspective, but always right in front of their noses. As if by magic, the fictional plants in this microcosm come to life, grow, multiply and wither. And the audience is immersed in this lively installation, this world between illusion and reality, which allows them to experience the natural course of things and the beauty of nature intensively in the impressive setting of the colorful stage landscape. The French-Belgian Compagnie Ersatz is a multidisciplinary collective working in the fields of performing arts, installation and illustration. Its artistic approach results from the intersection of the different professions of its members: illustrator Pierre Mercier, sound designer Noam Rzewski, lighting designer Léonard Cornevin and theater director and dramaturge Camille Panza. In collaboration with the theater group Création Dans la Chambre from Montreal, they have created AU JARDIN DES POTINIERS (IN THE GARDEN OF THE POTINIERS), a fantastic universe that tangibly presents the beauty of the world in all its fragility and poetry. Moments full of wonder and humor remind us of the fragility of our planet. A spectacle that can playfully sensitize children to the environment and make adults think.
