US-American Drew Portnoy innocently chose German as a foreign language in middle school because no one else was interested in the language. Little did he know at the time how much this would shape (change?) his life. At the end of the 90s, he swapped the Rocky Mountains of his native Colorado for the nightlife of Berlin and still doubts whether this decision was the right one.
