How do you cut through fire?

How do you cut through something made of air?

How do you burn a wetland?

Can color be the life force that burns through what burns?

How can you use fire against fire?

What to do when the earth burns?

"The Iberá swamps in Argentina are part of the Guaraní aquifer, one of the largest freshwater reserves on earth. In 2022, about 60% of the national park burned down, since then my painting has become charcoal." With CORTA FUEGO, Argentinian artist Basilia Guadalupe Perez Obregón wants to show how these two worlds coexist, that of ash and that of life. Life and death are interwoven, death is a seed of life.

Guadalupe was one of ten artists honored as "Artistas Emergentes Argentinos" by the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2021. She currently lives and works in Madrid.
