Antonín Dvořák: Violin concerto
Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 5
The Bamberg Symphony Orchestra is said to have a Bohemian sound. This may be due to its (geographical and historical) proximity to the Czech Republic, but also to its chief conductor Jakub Hrůša. Ideal partners for resident artist Isabelle Faust in Dvořák's Violin Concerto, which she has particularly enjoyed playing since the beginning of her career. Beethoven's Fifth crowns the evening with one of the most triumphant finales in orchestral literature.
