Bande á Part - Tanzbare Veranstaltung für Außenseiter

In the organizer's words:

SEASON OPENER 2024/25

Bodies become one, merge. They tell us what moves us, drives us, holds us back, drives us forward, holds us together. They remind us of our passions, strengths and weaknesses, of what we fight for or what we have won. Putting the intensity of dance's movement vocabulary into words, the expressive power of both presents itself: Whether dance or performance, both touch our innermost being; the stage becomes the setting for pulsating Gesamtkunstwerke - in short: the curtain falls for the season opener of our dance and performance series Bande á Part - Tanzbare Veranstaltung für Außenseiter!
As a creative space for performers and an open field of experimentation for artistic self-realization, the series sets an example for independent art: it playfully embraces the outsider position of independent art projects. Because outsiders are renowned and up-and-coming artists who enrich the experimental freedom of development, try things out and develop further.
Picking up on the intensity of dance and physical expression, the performance by Laura DeAngelis & Armonia Stamataki forms the prelude: a dialog between physicality and the verbal, exploring the intimacy of communication.

Laura DeAngelis & Armonia Stamataki: In Our Clubhouse
"How can we understand something as fragile as intimacy? It's about authenticity, about getting as close as possible to our true selves. In Our Clubhouse is an artistic exploration of intimacy to create a connection between us and our audience that feels safe and authentic. The piece is a series of dialogs that fluctuate between physical and verbal expressions. Our dialogues simultaneously allow media experiences to speak to interactive photographic projects to create an experience that is both intimate and multi-sensory. We explore communication with our bodies and words that brings us closer together.
In Our Clubhouse is an exploration of where our boundaries lie and what happens when we share our most intimate selves with others. We hope that our radical honesty radiates beyond the stage and creates a collaborative environment where our audience feels equally safe, seen and validated in their authentic expressions."

Armonia Stamataki is a Berlin-based dancer and performer. She began dancing with ballet training and completed her dance studies in Greece in 2019. She later became acquainted with contemporary dance and improvisation, which she continues to explore. She is interested in performance as a spectrum without rules and boundaries and experiments with different stimuli from her life experience as well as the social and political environment. She danced with "Thessalian Ballet" (Larissa) for two years and worked with "The opposite reflection" (Berlin) in "Aloof".
