Bea and her Business

Bea & Her Business - 2004 born London based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Bea Wheeler - is a powerful new voice with a flair for insightful, witty and brutally honest lyricism. She explores themes and experiences that many of us are familiar with, from a distinctive perspective that we've never heard before. She started posting on TikTok at the age of 16 - mostly covers, occasionally her own songs on the piano when she was brave enough to do so. In the early stages of 2020, a follower's request for 'Summertime Sadness' by Lana Del Rey led to Bea experimenting with the rich, distinctive vocals that would underpin her later work. The cover was released the same week her school was closed due to Covid, giving Bea enough free time to write daily posts that eventually caught the attention of (and enabled duets with) the likes of Tove Lo, George Ezra and Paloma Faith. Bea even got to perform in front of 100,000 people. Bea's team had to play down the size of the show, as the young singer was noticeably nervous about the huge audience. But the other figures are also impressive: a debut single with well over 20 million streams on Spotify alone, well over a million monthly listeners worldwide and soon 40 million TikTok likes. This success looks set to continue. But it is the opportunity for listeners to find themselves in her music that Bea finds most exciting.
