With this sentence, Peter Zadek wonderfully sums up the core of his approach to his work. Many of "his actors" - be it Angela Winkler, Eva Mattes or Susanne Lothar, be it Ulrich Wildgruber or Gert Voss - have all spoken of the creative challenge of never resting on one's laurels, but remaining permeable and curiously treading surprising paths.
Peter Zadek died only a few years ago and yet he is already a piece of theater history: as an artistic director and stage director, as a theater man who radically challenged actors and audiences to take a new look at plays, authors and characters."
