Beyond the Roots Large Ensemble/Flat Earth Society

The Beyond The Roots LARGE ENSEMBLE is an extension of the Cologne musicians' collective "Beyond the Roots" with internationally renowned guests. It combines sounds from the Orient, the Far East and Western art music and allows the musicians involved the freedom to improvise and use their own language. Spatially and mentally separated elements are creatively and newly combined.

Flat Earth Society is the ultimate ambassador for Belgian eccentricity. Founded in 1999 by Peter Vermeersch, this sonic giant roams a musical universe without borders or idiomatic rules. Unreliable, but generous. Sophisticated, yet instantly recognizable. This fall, FES is touring Europe and North America with their new album THE ONE, combined with a wide and wild selection of previous material. Mostly instrumental, never speechless, always heartfelt.
