Black Decelerant, the duo of Khari Lucas aka Contour and Omari Jazz, explores spiritual jazz traditions through contemporary sounds and textures, intoning sonic meditations on themes of blackness and non-being, life and grief, expansion and limitation, and the individual and the community. Their self-titled debut album and the core intention behind their collaboration create a space for listeners to find stillness and solace, while providing a foundation for movement beyond the "moment".
