BLITZ by Sir Steve McQueen (Hunger, Shame, 12 Years a Slave) tells the epic story of the young London boy George (Elliott Heffernan), who is sent to the English countryside by his mother Rita (Saoirse Ronan) to keep him safe during the German Luftwaffe raids in the Second World War. Driven by the desire to return to his mother and grandfather Gerald (Paul Weller) in London, the unruly boy embarks on a dangerous and adventurous journey back, while his mother desperately searches for her missing son. Academy and BAFTA Award winner Steve McQueen wrote the screenplay and directed the film.

Saoirse Ronan stars in the new film BLITZ, written and directed by Academy and BAFTA Award-winner Steve McQueen. BLITZ follows the epic journey of George (Elliott Heffernan), a 9-year-old boy in World War II London whose mother Rita (Saoirse Ronan) sends him to safety in the English countryside. George, defiant and determined to return home to his mom and his grandfather Gerald (Paul Weller) in East London, embarks on an adventure, only to find himself in immense peril, while a distraught Rita searches for her missing son.
