On September 19, we will be celebrating the book premiere of Paula Steiner's debut novel "Die Welt hat blaue Haare" at our BUCHBOX! branch in Kastanienallee from 8 pm. The evening will be hosted by presenter, editor and social scientist Sarah Fadoul Schneider.

Queer search for identity in a conservative milieu: a story of liberation

Two worlds collide: the middle-class barbecue on the terrace of a semi-detached house in Schweinfurt and the unconventional love fest on the back of a truck in a foreign, distant country. In one world, Luisa goes to school and dreams of Dunja, even though she is with Benno. In the other, Luisa writes herself into the vortex of a story. In it, Dunja is the world, wears a white linen suit and has blue hair. Both embark on a journey that leads Luisa to her sexuality and to herself. As the two girls get closer in reality, more and more circumstances from Dunja's life find their way into the story and Luisa's urge to tell her story becomes more and more violent. Until her story finally claims victims in the real world.
