On Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 6 pm, Bärenzwinger Berlin invites you to the opening of the exhibition "By Way of Water". The exhibition explores how the element of water shapes and changes urban spaces as a social, political and artistic medium.

The six artistic positions in the exhibition use hydro-cartographic and hydro-feminist perspectives to reflect on the relationship between humans and natural culture in urban spaces. Inspired by so-called confluences - those places where two bodies of water flow together - the artworks symbolically liquefy rigid dividing lines and categorizations of language and text in this process.

The exhibition is accompanied by a supporting program with artist talks, exhibition tours, events on the Day of the River (29.09.2024) and various educational offers.

With artistic contributions by Mirja Busch, Thesea Rigou Efstathopoulos, Anton Filatov, Sanne Vaassen, Claire Waffel and the U8 Kollektiv (Laurence Ermacova and Neïtah Janzing) with Rabab Haidar.
