CCA Berlin: Nazanin Noori. THE ECHO OF PROTEST IS DISTANT TO THE PROTEST

CCA Berlin is pleased to present the first solo exhibition by Berlin-based artist Nazanin Noori - THE ECHO OF PROTEST IS DISTANT TO THE PROTEST. With a background in theater, film and experimental music, Noori often fuses sound, space, sculpture and post-dramatic poetry, creating atmospheric narratives that traverse the genres of ambient hardcore and doom electronics. The exhibition at an external location of the CCA Berlin explores the emotional mobilization of the public and the spectacle of suffering in the context of political protests. It features a series of new immersive works in which Noori recontextualizes classical dramaturgical devices such as kitsch, irony and exaggeration to create quasi-stage spaces with soundscapes. These works pose questions about the eruptive presence and psychic afterlife of protest, the distance it travels and the turmoil it leaves in its wake.
