Charlotte Day Wilson immerses the Columbia Theater in her own "Cyan Blue"

In May, the Canadian singer and songwriter released her debut album "Cyan Blue" on the renowned London label XL Recordings, whose roster includes (sometimes very early) releases by artists such as Adele, Beck, Fontaines D.C., Burial, Radiohead, The Smile and Peaches.

Charlotte Day Wilson also has an incredibly charismatic voice, sometimes reminiscent of the great Torch songstresses such as Gale Storm, LaVern Baker and Sarah Vaughan.

Softly bedded on gospel piano, warm soul basses, atmospheric electronics and piercing R&B melodies, it's hard to resist songs like "Forever", "My Way", "Canopy", "I Don't Love You" or her early hits like "Work", "Mountains" or "What You Need" by Kaytranada.

In terms of content, Charlotte Day Wilson says of "Cyan Blue": "I want to see again through the unbittered eyes of my younger self. But I also wish that my younger self could see where I am now.

In November, Charlotte Day Wilson will present "Cyan Blue" and earlier songs live in Berlin - on Friday, November 8 at the Columbia Theater.
