Improvisation has now lost its importance in classical music, although it was still completely natural for all great composers to "fantasize" freely. A piano recital with classical pianist Lotta-Sophie Harder and jazz pianist Béla Meinberg brings both composition and improvisation to life and shows how close one can be to the other. The pieces literally merge into one large complete work, and a journey of different moods is created!

Lotta-Sophie Harder is a pianist living in Berlin. She performs as a Lied pianist with various singers and as a solo pianist in a duo with jazz pianist Béla Meinberg. She has been a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Live music now e.V. since 2019 and was accepted into the mentoringArts program of the HMT Leipzig in 2022/23. Supported by her lessons with Eric Schneider, her interest in art songs plays a central role for her. She was interested in different types of keyboard instruments from an early age. She gave musical tours on historical keyboard instruments at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, gained experience in continuo playing and won prizes at international organ competitions in 2017 in St. Albans, England and 2018 in Nowy Sacz, Poland. After her education at the Schloss Belvedere Music High School in Weimar, she studied harpsichord and organ at the Hamburg University of Music and Performing Arts, piano pedagogy at the Berlin University of the Arts and piano with Prof. Jacques Ammon at the Leipzig University of Music and Performing Arts.

Béla Meinberg is a jazz pianist living in Berlin. His playing is characterized by a strong influence from tradition, "always swinging and with a good sense of humour", but also by free improvisation and influences from modern jazz or impressionism.
The Béla Meinberg Trio released its debut album "It's a Game" in 2020 and the album "Akkolo" in 2022 on Fattoria Musica Records. With the trio MMO, Béla released the album "MMO feat. Chris Cheek - the hiker". He can be heard on over 10 albums as bandleader or sideman.
Béla has already worked with numerous jazz greats, including Billy Hart, Seamus Blake, Doug Weiss, Matt Penman, Chris Cheek and Mike Moreno. Concert tours have taken him to India, Georgia, Gran Canaria and many European countries.
Since 2022, he has been a pianist in two particularly exciting and forward-looking projects: firstly, in a duo with pianist Lotta-Sophie Harder, in which compositions and improvisations merge into a great whole, and secondly, in "Let Me LIED You", in which art song, jazz songs and lyrics are combined.
