Felicie and Carl Bernstein were a Russian-Jewish couple who settled in Berlin after their marriage in Vienna in 1872. Their salon and art collection, including the first Impressionist paintings to be seen in Germany, gave the city a completely new intellectual character and paved the way for modern art around 1880.

What happened to her art collection after Felicie Bernstein's death in 1908 and can individual works still be traced today?

The lecture will be complemented by a musical program by Austrian pianist Senka Brankovic.
