A shot is fired during a reception at the German embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia. Who will take care of the body? Where can she find peace? Or will it trigger a war? The video opera "Death in Peace" poses questions about the limits of diplomacy in opulent, multi-layered and precisely staged images. Director Ayla Pierrot Arendt's large-scale works examine how social crises affect the bodies of individuals and influence interpersonal relationships.

"Death in Peace", developed with a transnational team, was created in Frankfurt and Tbilisi, partly under the direct impression of the protests for democracy in May 2024. The engaging soundscape of the Georgian composer duo Nika Pasuri and Ani Zakareishvili gives an idea of the mood between pessimism and new beginnings. An intense experience that is a stirring reminder of the fragility of peace.
