One Shot (Ousmane Sy & Collectif FAIR-E)

One foot in the club, one foot in the battle - that is the philosophy of Ousmane Sy, a pioneer of house dance who died in 2020 at the age of 45. "One Shot" is his last work and is no exception. As in his acclaimed work "Queen Blood", only female dancers perform, this time to the music of a DJ spinning live house dance and Afrobeat.

House dance is a choreographic style that originated in the nightclubs of Chicago in the 1980s and is characterized by fast and airy leg movements. Ousmane Sy founded the Paradox-Sal company in 2012, a female crew whose performers come from a wide variety of backgrounds. One Shot builds on this heritage. Hip-hop, krump, popping, flamenco or contemporary dance: eight styles, eight women, who exert themselves in expressive solos and impress the audience in different ways. Each dancer asserts her strong individuality; at the same time, it is the collective that brings each individual together in explosive rhythmic lines in a great celebration of dance. A virtuoso performance characterized by sisterhood, glowing energy and a love of dance.
