It is a true musical (Christmas) classic and has delighted young and old alike for many generations. Almost everyone has melodies from it in their ears, and the wonderful story based on E.T.A. Hoffmann's "Nutcracker and Mouse King" is an unforgettable experience, and not just for children.

With its well-known music and magnificent classical choreography, the ballet fairy tale, which premiered in 1892, conveys perfect winter and Christmas magic. Christmas Eve has arrived and the family has gathered under the Christmas tree. Little Marie is given a nutcracker by her beloved godfather Drosselmayer. Thoughts of the wonderful gift accompany the girl to sleep. She dreams of a battle between the toy soldiers, led by the Nutcracker, against the army of the Mouse King.

With Marie's help, the Nutcracker is victorious and turns into a prince. Together with Marie, he travels to the realm of sweets, where the Sugar Fairy is holding a big party at Zuckerburg Castle . With interspersed Spanish, Arabian, Chinese and Russian dances, appearances by Harlequin, Columbine and other magical characters, "The Nutcracker" creates a heart-warming, fairy-tale atmosphere.
