A play for young people based on Friedrich Schiller | Adapted by Carmen Schwarz
The two brothers Karl and Franz are fundamentally different. One is worldly-wise, the other is scheming. In their egotistical desire for freedom, both act equally ruthlessly and work themselves off against an overpowering father figure. What looks like a family conflict is actually a social conflagration. And it continues - from generation to generation. What if someone comes along and wants to break the patriarchal endless loop of hurt and violence?
Young author Schiller made a spectacular start 240 years ago with DIE RÄUBER. His Sturm und Drang drama has long been part of the canon of classical education. But how does a young generation struggle for positions and responsibility today? And could the female perspective of one of Karl and Franz's sisters really offer a chance to resolve age-old conflicts?
