In the organizer's words:

This double exhibition presents around 60 projects by the Berlin architectural team sauerbruch hutton and allows them to enter into a dialog with selective testimonies of architectural history.

On the occasion of the transfer of their legacy to the Academy's Baukunstarchiv, Louisa Hutton and Matthias Sauerbruch and Tom Geister, together with curator Dirk van den Heuvel (TU Delft), have rethought their retrospective "draw love build" and expanded it by a decisive level: access to the Baukunstarchiv generates surprising dialogues between positions from the first half of the 20th century and the present. The approximately 100-year-old perspectives of a generation on the move serve as inspiration and benchmark for an architecture that seeks to process the crisis-ridden situation of current environmental and social conditions.

The exhibition offers a comprehensive tour d'horizon that can be explored in greater depth by visitors via a specially developed app. With easily retrievable information such as texts, drawings, photographs and films, the exhibition visit can be freely organized in terms of scope and subject area.

In addition, the film Sauerbruch Hutton Architekten by Harun Farocki from 2013 will be shown, which documents the everyday life and working methods of the office.

On family Sundays, the KUNSTWELTEN invite visitors to build an urban landscape in open workshops. The result is "Biopolis - residential city of the future".
