DUFF MCKAGAN

When it comes to Duff McKagan, most people immediately think of Guns N' Roses. In 1985, Axl Rose brought him on board as bassist. By that time, McKagan already had an amazing underground career behind him. McKagan stayed on board until 1997 and returned for the big reunion in 2016 after the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He can therefore be heard on some of the most famous rock songs in the world and even co-wrote some of them.

But his solo work is also remarkable. Duff McKagan has now released four of his own albums and the latest "Lighthouse" is not only one of the strongest of these, but also the lyrical essence of his life as a musician to date. This is also evident from the fact that companions such as Iggy Pop, Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains and, of course, Slash each pop in for a song. McKagan says of the twelve songs: "These are really just simple punk songs, raw and unfiltered, even though I sing and don't shout. But the themes are wide-ranging: I start with an ode to my wife and end the album off with an ode to life - so I've captured the two things I love most pretty well."
