DWNS#60: PAULINKO + SCHRAMM + xena

In the organizer's words:

On 07.12. we invite you again to Gleis 22 for our 60th edition of the concert series "die wollen nur spielen". The concert will take place in cooperation with PopBoard NRW. The line-up is really something special:

PAULINKO sees itself as the mouthpiece of a generation of post-millennial women who simply live female empowerment and don't give a shit about conventions, take their lives into their own hands and live as they see fit. Anyone who sees the band live will be blown away by 2x 150% energy. Pure party! PAULINKO has now become the ultimate opponent of the dick quota and ensures that not only CIS student men and bearded men populate the stages at festivals.

SCHRAMM: On his debut EP "I made this for myself (I didn't make it for you)", he combined The Strokes guitars and UK indie rock influences with his very own infectious humor and was widely praised for it. On the new EP "How to fail at love", you can sense a clear further development of the young musician. SCHRAMM switches effortlessly between German and English and demands "composure" right at the beginning, which is difficult to maintain in the face of the captivating songs. The body wants to move rhythmically, right from the start, when darkwave meets autotune and gabber (!) in the opener "Fail at Love".

xena: ARM is xena's current indie-rock-hip-hop board that is flooding the headphones and speakers of the republic. Quiet and relaxed to jazzy guitars and a laid-back drum machine groove, it starts off dreamily and without you really realizing what's happening, you find yourself in front of a beautiful indie rock guitar wall. xena's latest number is a very skillful mixture of groovy beats, indie rock and RnB sound, which - as with the last numbers - lets musical idols such as Dominik Fike, Bakar or Steve Lacy shine through.
