Ebertplatzkonzert #1 – Eile und C.A.R

In the organizer's words:

Old friends await you at the first Ebertplatzkonzert 2024: C.A.R. is back at Ebertplatz! This time with Eile, also from Cologne. A brilliant mix awaits you at the start of this year's Thursday concert series, curated by FDV Veranstaltungstechnik, starting punctually at 6 pm and, as always, Free admission.

>>C.A.R. was founded in Cologne in 2011 by Johannes Klingebiel and Kenn Hartwig. While the band initially played experimental jazz, the press now classifies C.A.R. as krautrock, cosmic, electronica and experimental pop. Highlights of their work to date have been concerts and residencies at festivals such as the Fusion Festival, the Kolkata Jazz Festival and Casa Banchel in Madrid.

This is what C.A.R. says about themselves: " We could go on and on about German post-war music history
like "Krautrock", "Cosmic Music" and
"Jazz-Rock" and what that means to us.
But we could also just say: "Hello, we are C.A.R.
from Cologne and we play music the way we like it: a bit
acoustic, a bit electronic; on a trip, but without
a precise destination; intense, but not brutal; spherical, but not
arbitrary; excessive, but still precise. Does that help you?

>> EILE (she/he) - at home in Cologne - has been a DJ in recent years, especially on the dance floors of subcultural and self-organized contexts. She has been collecting records from various genres for years: new wave, (Italo) disco, boogie, jazz, synth-pop, funk and house - including some niche and unknown finds. Eile's sets are characterized by catchy synth sounds and her preference for beatmatching.

Since 2019, concerts have been held regularly on Ebertplatz during the summer months as part of the interim use of Ebertplatz. While acts and genres change, Thursday evenings remain a constant for the Ebertplatzkonzerte concerts. All concerts are free of charge and are jointly organized by Unser Ebertplatz and FDV Veranstaltungstechnik with changing curators.
