Ein Sommernachtstraum

Unwanted and unfulfilled love, a ruling couple on the verge of marriage, craftsmen as actors and a marital quarrel among fairies - this is how William Shakespeare's most frequently performed comedy, "A Midsummer Night's Dream", can be described. The famous story, with all its confusion and entanglements, provides the perfect basis for a choreographic exploration. Following his ballet "Romeo and Juliet", this is the second time that Yaroslav Ivanenko has devoted himself to a work by the English national poet. He uses not only the incidental music of the same name by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, but also other works by the Romantic composer, and combines them with music by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns. Let yourself be surprised and follow the illustrious wedding party into the enchanted forest at night!

On October 12, 17, 19 and 26, there will be an audience introduction in the 2nd foyer 45 minutes before the start of each performance.
