Fresh Blood Award
In the FRESH BLOOD section, Fantasy Filmfest presents first or second films by as yet unknown directors and lets viewers vote for their favorites in an audience competition. The winning film will receive the audience award - the FRESH BLOOD AWARD. Voting takes place at every FRESH BLOOD screening with voting cards that are distributed on site. On the voting cards, 1-5 stars can be awarded for each film. The winner will be announced at the end of the festival.

Self-confident Cassie and shy Hans have only just met. But while the mismatched couple carelessly devote themselves to each other, a virus begins to rage outside their front door that will irrevocably change the world. At first, the lovers don't mind moving even closer together because of this. But that soon becomes a problem. Because the epidemic is merging bodies, but not just human ones: No tissue remains unconnected, whether flesh or stone.
