Cela pourrait être un roman policier. A woman is kidnapped, assassinated and then thrown into the Landwehr Canal in Berlin. Derrière ce mystère, un complot, une intrigue ? And then... no body. Is-ce vraiment elle la femme noyée qu'on retrouvera deux mois plus tard ?

This woman is Rosa Luxemburg. Like many other women at the beginning of the century, she shaped the thinking of the European socialists - and was at the heart of the right-wing and left-wing movements. As a young woman, as a communist and, above all, as a public woman who was sure of herself, she was both admired and mocked before finally being assassinated.

For this project, the actress and actress Aurélie Youlia has reconstituted the life and person of Rosa Luxemburg based on her writings and the souvenirs of her nephew Kazimierz Luxemburg. It portrays the image of a strong woman at a time of immense bouleversements and extreme violence. Who is Rosa L.? And where does the fascination for this exceptional woman come from today?

It's all about Rosa Luxemburg. She shaped the thinking of socialist Europeans more than almost any other woman at the beginning of the century - and attracted the hatred of right-wing and left-wing forces. As a Jew, as a communist and not least as a self-confident woman in the public eye, she was admired, despised and ultimately murdered.

Between Paris and Mannheim, Aurélie Youlia and Inka Neubert have reconstructed the life and person of Rosa Luxemburg from her letters and the memories of her nephew Kazimierz Luxemburg for this project. The result is a picture of a strong woman in a time of great upheaval and massive violence. Who is Rosa L.? And what is her fascination today?
