KIEZKLUB presents: A dance theater piece from Neukölln
A table. A festive community. Peanut flips, André Rieu and sparkling wine. Everything is there. Just like every year. Cheers then!
But what is the occasion here? A birthday party? A family celebration? Or the Day of the Dead? Are we really popping the corks again or is the situation just booze-inducing? Maybe someone should give a speech or simply turn up the music!
Welcome to "Celebrate parties until they fall"!
In the foyer and studio of Heimathafen Neukölln, 13 Berliners will go in search of the rituals and occasions that unite us as communities. They ask: How can and do we still want to celebrate in times of global crisis? What kind of community do we practice at a family celebration? Why don't we celebrate our failures more often or toast to boredom? In a world that is increasingly coming apart at the seams, shouldn't rituals and occasions actually be reinvented?
Together with the audience, they embark on a search for traces of festive crises, the perfect moment and thoughts of escape with dance, drinks and personal stories. Be it at the coffee table, at the bar or on the dance floor of Heimathafen Neukölln!
