After the summer break, we are reopening the studio center for our next exhibition "FLINTA* Perspectives" with the works of young artists Neo Lucic (drawing), Elias Bodemer (photography, video, painting) and Lu Ann Beberweil (painting).
The acronym FLINTA* stands for women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, transand agenderpeople. The * at the end is intended to include other variations of gender diversity. The term summarizes people who suffer from patriarchy. Therefore, the perspectives of these artists are important for the social discourse against patriarchy, expressed, among other things, through their art.
Neo Lucic reinterprets and combines various living beings and objects. The theme "No boundaries are set in art" appears again and again in the works, so the drawings create completely new realities and thus portray an escape from the here and now.
Elias Bodemer (photography, video art) is currently studying at the KHM in Cologne. His current focus is on film, photography and video art. The works arise from an urge to reflect and influence political and social issues, or are personal to the point of combining both.
Lu Ann Beberweil creates works with a wide variety of materials, which she combines on the canvas. The works are created out of emotions, influenced by everyday situations, social and political issues and events.
