Did you capture beautiful sunsets and breathtaking motifs on your last trip but the pictures at home disappoint you? The majestic cat of prey is just a small dot and the impressive alpine panorama seems unspectacular?

If you have had these or similar experiences and would like to take impressive travel photos in the future, the travel photography workshop - "Little equipment? Lots of pictures!" is just right for you.

Together with experienced travel photographer Bastian Maria, you will tackle both theoretical and practical photographic challenges in this workshop. You will analyze a selection of images to identify common mistakes and avoid them in the future.

This workshop is independent of the camera equipment used - whether you are a beginner with a smartphone or an advanced photographer with a professional camera - everyone is welcome. The focus is on the image, not the technique.

Procedure and content:

2 hours - travel photography - theory

• What is travel photography?
• Improving image design and composition
• Being in the right place at the right time for the perfect photo
• Seven tips for exceptional and exciting travel shots
• Overview of camera technology, image development, editing and archiving
• Joint image analysis and discussion

2 hours - Travel photography - practice

• Taking photos together and putting what you have learned into practice
• Tips for travel photography, street photography, light, reflection & symmetry
• How to stage friends, partners and get in touch with locals for portrait shots, for example
• Direct help with questions about a specific photographic situation

Please bring along:

- Camera with fully charged battery (DSLR, compact or cell phone camera)
- 5 pictures from your last trip (on USB stick, SD card, CF card or hard disk)
- A lot of curiosity & enthusiasm

About Bastian Maria
With 12 kg of luggage and less than 3 euros per day, photographer Bastian Maria has been able to get to know more than 50 countries around the world and perfect his individual backpacking, hitchhiking and travel photography skills. His motivation is the unique cultural experiences and photographing the intense moments: from hunting eagles together in Kyrgyzstan to the medicine of Ethiopian shamans and traditional Punjab weddings in Pakistan. Bastian Maria shares his experiences of being able to document exciting travel images despite having little equipment in his workshops and seminars.
