Franka Hörnschemeyer: Blindtext

In the organizer's words:

At Galerie Thomas Schulte, Franka Hörnschemeyer is presenting her walk-in spatial sculpture Blindtext from 2009 together with a selection of drawings in the gallery's Corner and Window Space. The labyrinthine structure of aluminum honeycomb elements on a raised platform takes the form of a hexagon. This shape is reflected in the gallery's exterior architecture and comes to the fore as a space within a space. The tall shop windows and the vertical, reflective metal panels of the work interact with each other, with the viewers and passers-by on the street - in an interplay between hidden glances and moments in which various structural layers can be seen through. Within this system of relationships, interstices open up that allow us to experience the design of our built environment and the way in which it shapes us.
