Come along and join us for an evening exploring the club scene of Berlin and England! The party takes place at Kater Blau, known for its energetic nights and vibrant parties. In this electrifying environment where culture and nightlife collide, we are delighted to screen the great documentary "Free Party: A Folk History".
Opening the evening is DJ Mirochka, a DJ and musician from Kiev whose musical influences range from groovy tribal and breaks to experimental techno. She is the co-founder of the music project Brukxt, a YouTube platform that presents artists from the Ukrainian electronic music scene.
Afterwards we will show the film Free Party: A Folk History. Director Aaron Trinder takes us back to the birth of the Free Party movement in England in the 80s and 90s. Far away from commerce and official venues, the movement organized wild outdoor parties. They demanded the right to party where, when and how they wanted and became a target for the police. The movement inspired other people around the world to organize not only parties but also protests.
