A favorite song to dance along to, depressing news, the touch of a favorite person all get under our skin. The skin, our largest organ, consists of many layers that protect us. What goes under the skin makes it tingle with happiness, feel frightened or contract with cold, hurts us or warms us pleasantly. Sometimes the hairs on our skin move and we get goose bumps. The dance piece sets out to find out why we sometimes need to put on a thick skin, what touches us and, above all, what moves us!
The choreographer Modjgan Hashemian opens up a field of tension of touch, starting with distance regulations over longing for loved ones, up to intimate embraces. In the process, people meet across linguistic barricades. In a piece for the senses, touch is to be made tangible in all its facets and bring us closer together.
"Gänsehaut" will be shown on December 1 with audio description for blind and visually impaired people. In cooperation with the Berliner Spielplan Audiodeskription, an audio description has been written that will be read live over radio headphones. Before the performances, there is a tactile tour to get to know the set and costumes.
