In the organizer's words:

The playwright Bertolt Brecht and the painter George Grosz: the two had a working relationship and friendship for decades. Even after they fled into exile in 1933, their contact did not break off. Their correspondence, which has only now been published in the exhibition catalog, bears witness to this. A transatlantic exchange of letters between Svendborg and Long Island, from which Paul Herwig, Martin Rentzsch and others will read.
