Our Basic Law turns 75, and to mark the occasion, the "Basic Law" series is dedicated to the rights and duties enshrined in our constitution.

Today,Alexander Thiele and his team from the BSP Business and Law School are focusing on the freedom of faith, conscience and religious and ideological beliefs. What do positive and negative religious freedom mean and how do individual and collective religious freedom relate to each other? Alexander Thiele talks to his panel guests about the dimensions of the scope of protection of freedom of religion and belief in Article 4 of the Basic Law:

Ricarda Lang is a member of the German Bundestag and, together with Omid Nouripour, has been the federal chair of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen since February 2022. She was previously a spokesperson for the Green Youth.

Ulf Buermeyer is a lawyer and former judge at the Berlin Regional Court. As a member of the board of the Society for Civil Liberties, he is committed to fundamental rights, particularly in the digital space.
