Jazz clubs, critics, pop fans and the internet: Everyone loves Hohnen Ford! Growing up in the lively London scene, the singer and instrumentalist developed a passion for twentieth-century instrumental jazz at an early age, graduating with honors from the renowned Royal Academy of Music. While still a student, Ford played in outstanding ensembles, appeared as a bandleader, singer and composer and has since performed on her city's most famous stages, including the Royal Festival Hall, Pizza Express Jazz Club, The Vortex and Ronny Scott's. During the pandemic, the musician built up a devoted following with intimate live streams at her piano and developed the sound of her radically contemporary yet nostalgically warm debut EP "Infinity" in a home studio setting. Following her rapid rise to fame, Hohnen Ford is now a fixture on the British jazz scene, collaborating with top-class musicians and, thanks in part to her distinctive voice, has developed an unmistakable sound that is as complex as it is catchy, as allusive as it is unique. Her music reflects influences from Joni Mitchell to Björk, from Stevie Wonder to Big Thiem, from Gillian Welch to David Longstreth and yet remains immediately recognizable Hohnen Ford. Her concerts captivate with an intimate and concentrated atmosphere that works just as well in large theaters as it does in smaller jazz clubs. To the delight of their fans, the vinyl LP "Infinity/I Wish I Had A God", which consists of their first EP and songs released in 2024, will be released in November this year after a long wait. In September, Hohnen Ford will be coming to Germany for an exclusive concert as well as performing at the Reeperbahn Festival.
