Fresh Blood Award

In the FRESH BLOOD section, Fantasy Filmfest presents first or second films by as yet unknown directors and lets viewers vote for their favorites in an audience competition. The winning film will receive the audience award - the FRESH BLOOD AWARD. Voting takes place at every FRESH BLOOD screening with voting cards that are distributed on site. On the voting cards, 1-5 stars can be awarded for each film. The winner will be announced at the end of the festival.

Sasha's parents are worried. How is the girl ever going to look after herself? At the doctor's, the devastating findings: the child has compassion. With humans. A life-threatening diagnosis for vampires. So the empathetic Sasha wanders aimlessly through the streets. Unexpectedly, she meets her supposed savior: a boy who wants to end his life but doesn't dare.

French-Canadian director Ariane Louis-Seize finds her own charm for the nocturnal quarrels of bloodthirsty immortals. Her feature film debut celebrates a fragile adolescent love in deep existentialist shadows. Under flickering lanterns, you sway wistfully to vinyl melodies until the dripping red kisses your lips. Because despite Sasha's blockade, this enchanting horror comedy is by no means bloodless. C'est la vie vampirisée.

French-Canadian director Ariane Louis-Seize finds her own charm for the nocturnal quarrels of bloodthirsty immortals in the tradition of cult films such as LET THE RIGHT ONE IN. Her feature film debut celebrates the fragile first love and coming into being of young vampire Sasha. If she wants to survive, she has to stop to have mercy with her potential preys. This does not mean that this enchanting horror comedy is not bloody.
