IM SCHATTEN Thomas Arslan D 2010 OmeU 85' Trojan (Mišel Matičević), a loner who has just been released from prison, immediately plans his next coup. While preparing to rob an armored car with an old friend, a former accomplice sics two hitmen on him. The taciturn professional also has to fend off a corrupt civilian policeman (Uwe Bohm). A suspenseful crime film, a neo-film noir - Arslan makes veritable genre cinema for the first time here. He concentrates very specifically on the gangsters' everyday lives, their trade, the gestures of their work, without burdening the characters with personal stories. In Trojan's movement through the city, he also paints a picture of Berlin: neon signs on Friedrichstrasse, Excelsior House, Kottbusser Tor, Olivaer Platz, the main railway station, parking lots, multi-storey parking lots, coach houses and hotel rooms.
