imPULS – SalonKonzert: Bachs Kaleidoskop

In this salon concert, the Flex Ensemble explores Bach's great organ works together with accordionist Goran Stevanovic. Heribert Breuer, founder and conductor of the Berlin Bach Academy, has transcribed six of the organ works for piano quartet, two of which will be premiered on this evening. This allows the audience to experience and hear this music in a completely different color. Can a piano quartet or an accordion come close to the essence of this music?

Bach has directly and indirectly inspired countless composers. In addition to the sound and style explorations for their individual instruments, the Flex Ensemble combines the monumental organ music with a selection of solo works that are connected to Bach in their own way. They can be understood as organ registrations that add different colors and perspectives to this ode to Bach and, in a way, to the organ as well. The audience can thus look through a kaleidoscope and experience and (re)discover Bach's music "off the beaten track" through the new nuances of Bach's organ works and the solo works from the 20th century that have been added here.
