Iqhude – Wasser gehört allen

In the organizer's words:

Together with the South African artists from Zululand University, the Ama-Born-Free, the Imbongi choir has developed a musical on the subject of water.

Water is the big issue in a small village in Africa. Every morning, the tap, called Iqhude, crows. But there is no rain. The women have to walk long distances to get a little water. A mining company makes the village a poisonous offer: land for water. The women are against it, the men are for it. A conflict that exists in South Africa and in many countries around the world is staged with a lot of temperament, dance and music. Songs about the joy that raindrops trigger, songs about the love for one's own beautiful country and, above all, about "Ubuntu", about the power of people standing together.
