Fascinating and diverse are the testimonies that prove the desire to preserve dance, to overcome the ephemeral nature of dance art. The German Dance Archive Cologne presents a selection of these in its new annual exhibition: the spectrum ranges from historical dance textbooks to artistically designed dance notations, from the passionately collected legacy of a 19th century prima ballerina to the digital dance school of a 20th century choreographer and ballet director. In addition, the exhibition also shows examples from his rich collection of dance notations - the representation of movement by means of figurative or abstract signs.
