In view of the new boom in ultra-nationalism in a growing number of countries around the world, including Europe, the US philosopher Jason Stanley uses a historical and contemporary dual perspective to work out the general patterns and rhetoric, the materials and myths of fascism. Stanley is certain that only if we recognize fascist politics can we resist its most damaging effects and return to democratic ideals.

Jason Stanley is the Jacob Urowsky Professor of Philosophy at Yale University. His research focuses on epistemology, topics in linguistics, cognitive science and philosophy of language, and the theory of fascism. He has received several awards for his work. He writes for the New York Times, the Washington Post, The Boston Review and The Chronicle of Higher Education.
