Kinderfest in der Kulturbrauerei und Brandenburger BioFest

To mark World Children's Day, the grounds of the Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg will once again be transformed into a playground for children of all ages. There will be a varied cultural program with workshops and attractions for everyone who wants to learn something, be creative or simply let off steam to their heart's content.

The "Brandenburger BioFest" is part of the big children's festival in the Kulturbrauerei. True to the motto "Brandenburg - surprisingly different!", the Fördergemeinschaft Ökologischer Landbau Berlin-Brandenburg (FÖL) transforms the Kulturbrauerei courtyards into a large organic farm. Numerous representatives from organic farming, beekeeping and environmental and nature conservation associations will be coming to Prenzlauer Berg to inspire families about organic farming, healthy eating and environmental protection. The focus is on small businesses from the Brandenburg travel regions.

The BioFest stage also presents an all-day program with music, theater, dance and sporting events.

Highlights include concerts by Raketen Erna (children's rock trio from Kreuzberg), Ich & Herr Meyer (Kidspop), Richards Kindermusikladen (Richard Haus a.k.a. P.R. Kantate), as well as the

interactive street theater "Müllomania" and the capoeira show by Jangada Academia.

There will be a variety of rural play and hands-on activities in the adventure area: a straw bouncy castle, grain baths to dip in and out of, a children's bakery, a potato field for self-harvesting, milking competitions, egg collecting and much more.

The Sunday street food market "Street Food auf Achse" is also part of the event and provides culinary delights and refreshments.

In addition, many of the venues on the site, such as the Maschinenhaus, the museum, the Haus für Poesie and the Soda Club, will open their doors and offer an insight into the Kulturbrauerei's program.

The Razzzelbande - What's up Hoverup?

In their songs, the four friends Sharkie, Ahja, Mitch and Connie talk about the adventures they have every day at home. And of those they have experienced in their search for the golden tone. They bring something from everywhere: Aiuk Aiukuck's Robodance, a battle from their visit to the German Beatbox Championships or travel tips to and from Hoverup.

The new and interactive children's shows from Razzz Beatbox Entertainment take the audience on an interactive journey into the vastness of the anchor galaxies during the adventures of the Razzzelbande. For 30 minutes, they sing (along), dance (along), laugh and, of course, beatbox (along). Fresh beats, a potpourri of different noises and catchy tunes will delight the audience of all ages. Everything live, everything with the mouth.

Museum in the Kulturbrauerei - Heavy Metal in the GDR

Louder, harder, faster - in the 1980s, heavy metal fascinated young people all over the world. While bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden conquered the stages in the West, an equally energetic heavy metal scene developed in the GDR in the decade before the fall of the Wall and reunification, which was oriented towards the West and eyed with suspicion by the SED regime. The exhibition "Heavy Metal in the GDR" takes a look at the everyday lives of fans and bands: leather jackets and studded wristbands, guitars and records tell of music and youth culture in the GDR in the 1980s. Contemporary witnesses bring the stories to life.

House for Poetry

Workshop "Anders Anderssein"- accompanied by poet and rapper Ayon Mukherji and the POEDU coaches, you can write yourself happy...Are you between 11 and 18 years old and want to write a book of poems with other young people? Ayon and his guests will show you techniques for writing and inventing your own poems, spoken word texts, raps and songs. At the end, you will hold your own book in your hands and celebrate the premiere of your texts on stage. No previous knowledge is necessary. Participation is free of charge.

"Lust for the future" - helping to shape the future together

These are local initiatives that work in their immediate surroundings to create a liveable and open-minded society. Under the motto "Lust an Zukunft ", dm-drogerie markt wants to create space this summer for projects that move our society. Support will be given to associations, organizations and initiatives that take action, people who are confident and want to bring change into the world. The result of the vote from the dm stores in the Prenzlberg neighborhood will be announced on the BioFest stage and a donation check will be handed over to the winning projects. At the dm-drogerie markt stand, there will also be a workshop by the "Weltretterbande" on the topic of avoiding plastic waste for children aged 3 and over.

As always, admission is free!
